Celebrating Life

Version en español

versão em portugues

Why do we expect to get sick to know more about habits to construct our cells? Why waiting for a special date to express what we feel or give our best to ourselves and the world? Why expressing something we don’t feel to someone if we can express what we really feel?

Let’s imagine that, instead of focusing on other people’s life to judge, compare or blame them, we are focused on constructing and being the most integral, respectful, coherent and transparent version of ouselves, WE ALWAYS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO CELEBRATE LIFE AND TRANSFORM FROM THE ROOT WHAT MOTIVATES OURSELVES TO DECIDE ABOUT OUR OWN LIFE.

Today is my birthday, that, for me, is celebration of life, feeling grateful for everything because of the fact of having constructed the current version of myself, understanding that knowledge is infinite and that, integrated to my life, allows me to experience the fact of being alive as an even stronger connection to my own self and everything around me. My present for all of us today, is sharing a little of my experience about how to celebrate life in every single moment:

  1. Breathing: We need to oxygenate our cells all the time, the most appropriate way to do this is by doing deep diaphragmatic breathing (the lower part of the abdomen is contracted, the mouth closed, the air enters and the upper part of the abdomen expands first, then the chest. Every time we remember, we breathe and try to keep it all day long, so we remain calm and increase the response time to situations, because we think more clearly.

  2. Nutrition: It is essential to have a good nutrition in all respects, to nurture our sense of unity, our mind with knowledge about our talents and our personal development, our expression with more constructive words and gestures, and our integrity as social individuals..

  3. Physical Activity: We can do physical activity all day long by being aware of our movements, our muscles and our posture. Maintaining a straight posture (shoulders back, chest open, abdomen and lumbar contracted, hip aligned to the spine) to walk and sit, strengthens and allows us to be more aware about our body.

Exercising our presence in every moment, we celebrate life 24/7, I sing, dance, listen, embrace, speak, walk, create, and pay attention to my body, my emotions, my mind and my heart, because, this way, I celebrate its existence and tune in with everything around me (click here to know and buy the book 7 Levels for Personal Empowerment).

Ángel 2

Throughout my life I’ve lived experiences that have made me, constantly, evaluate my role in society, I’ve been through moments of crises in which I’ve decided to start over in order to understand other perspectives and I’ve experienced myself in different phases until I’ve found the appropriate measure of everything that I am in the present. Thanks to this process my perception has expanded itself, what have inspired me to focus my energy on developing my natural talent: COMMUNICATION. Step by step we potenciate each other and touch our hearts by investing in our authenticity, from our peace.

I love writing and expanding my own consciousness in levels that allow myself to have tha appropriate knowledge about what I am emotional, mental, sentimental, physical and energetically. I enjoy reading and talking, to integrate new knowledge, and being able to transmit it, in a simpler way, what I’ve integrated in my life, potentiating it through my own example.

The intention of what I write is inspiring and accelerating processes, of self-knowledge and empowerment, through the personal experience, from the subtlest to the densest level, in an INTEGRAL WAY.

I write articles that contribute to the expansion of personal perspectives at Portal Empowering Angle and have available for sale the eBook, based on my personal experience, “7 Levels for Personal Empowerment” that integrates practical exercises, moments for personal reflection and an integral perception of our aspects as human beings (mental and emotional worlds integrated to the social context), focusing our energy, to develop ourselves as social individuals (click here to read a part of the introduction).

We, consciously, make a more conscious and integrated humanity to create a more collaborative, transparent and sustainable society.

Empowering Beliefs: 3 steps do identify and transform our beliefs

Version en español

versão em portugues

Keeping our minds in the present (click here to read the text about present mind) and having constructive thoughts (click here to read the text about constructive mind) we can connect to the world from a wider persective, where we recognize little aspects we haven’t perceived before. Sensations that comes from the most different sources and allow us to know a little more about us.

To reinforce the thoughts constructive process let’s bring the awareness to our belief system, that is an important part of our limiting mental noise, since it is installed, works automatically and, often, doesn’t match what we really want.

Following these 3 steps we can identify the beliefs we bring, if they’re limiting or empowering, and transform them.

  1. Identify the belief causing the thought that arises.
  2. Answer the question: Is this belief empowering me or other people? If the answer is “YES” the exercise about this belief end up here, if the answer is “NO” let’s follow th third step.
  3. Transform the limiting belief into an empowering belief.

This process is simple, see an example below to make it clearer.

  1. Thought: At that age is impossible to have any opportunity –> Belief: after certain age there are no opportunities.
  2. This belief is limitation, for me and for others.
  3. Empowering Belief: opportunities depend on people’s preparation and attitude.

In some cases, in order to make the transformation, we have to look for facts that shows us that our belief is not an absolut truth. In this case I see people around me that have become more complete professionals, as they age, and their experience and nkowledge have led them to be a reference in their area, since they believe there are opportunities for people with skills and knowledge integrated to their own personality and have always worked on that.

The key for building is empowerment, both ours and others’, so let’s focus on sharing more knowledge and experience when interacting, so we can improve our team work.

Natural Cycles: Vegetables

Version en español versão em portugues

I want to be more respectful with life, and that’s why I’m going to be a vegetarian. I don’t want to kill living beings to eat them, I want to eat only vegetables. The question arises, do vegetables have no life? Should I eat them? How do I eat them when they no longer have life?

Vegetables are an imaginary group of plant species that is very wide and varied in the world. There are so many and there may be many more, the transgenics and the artisan selection of seeds continue to diversify our food reserve! It is a reserve that seems inexhaustible. Although we have to be careful with genetic erosion (see here what it is).

Our grandparents, and our grandmothers, selected the richest and most nutritious weeds, carried their seeds in order to give their grandchildren the best food. It is a precious process, it is the flame that we carry as humans. We have to thank that, their life.

Taking that into account, we must know that when we eat the plant it is likely that it took a huge effort to produce it. Not only we, but a series of humans who produce their fertilizers, who produce their seeds, who prepare the soil, who care for and watch over the crop, and then harvest, take the food to the table. All that chain is a little hidden lately, but it is amazing how much food we plucked from the soil.

We eat the vegetable in its most vital state, when it is richer and concentrates more energy from the sun and the earth. Food is energy from the sun packaged by different plants and animals into carbohydrates, fats and proteins. In grains, such as bread wheat and corn, we eat their babies, which are their seeds. Some are reseeded, others are eaten. Life works like this, this concept is called trophobiosis. Also the oil and charcoal that feed our industries are sun energy produced and stored by animals and plants millions of years ago, but that is another discussion (if you are interested look at this concept of EROEI).

I say that we pluck the food from the soil because the current technologies of usufruct of the earth are UNSUSTAINABLE, that is to say that in the future they cannot continue happening. All our food, all our constructions, all our technological tools, all our clothes, all our activities on the planet are inherently linked to destructive practices. There are a few exceptions, but they are isolated cases, the real tragedy continues to happen and scales are much greater than before. They say that having a child is the worst thing that can happen to the planet … I don’t know, for me, those people confuse life with death and death with life.

The more conscious people there are, willing to change, the more opportunity for biodiversity and ecological stability. We are potentially destroyers or constructers.

From the lettuce only leaves can be eaten if they haven’t started to bloom, same with cabbages. The broccoli and cauliflower can only be harvested at a specific time, it is the sepal of the flower, the first stage of flowering of the plant. Carrots and beets lose a large part of their fruit if they are allowed to bloom, we need to choose the most beautiful ones and removing the seeds, others we eat and thank. The same with animals … there are optimal times to eat them.

Yes, for both there are MANY technologies of sustainable production, but almost all affirm that there must be such a radical change that it must affect all spheres of coexistence between humans, nature and other species of micro and macro living organisms. But that’s another GIANT discussion.

It’s been a pleasure,

Nicolás.

Focusing Our Fanaticism

Version en español

versão em portugues

Throughout our lives we’ve had the opportunity to perceive how fanaticism has been used as a segregation tool, even though it has the potential to be used from integration. Our desire to be right about what we believe generates conflicts, because we all live our experience from different perspectives, so if we really want to construct peace, it is essential that we exercise the idea of being fanatics of what unites us to integrate ourselves as social individuals: our integrity

Let’s see some aspects to focus our fanaticism on our personal integrity, by integrating the science of things and our personal experience:

  1. Let’s know ur bodies: through our will we exercise our whole body, that’s why by knowing better how cells work and their nutrition (click here to read the text about cell regeneration), muscles, bones, joints, and their respective integrated functions, we can transform our nutrition to construct our health and improve our disposition, regardless our age. Remember that there must be constant maintenance and use for everything to function.
  2. Let’s understand our mental world: what we believe can always be transformed, then, does everything we think give us peace of mind? If the answer is no, it is time to analyze and transform our beliefs in a way that encourages ourselves to construct from the differences (click here to read the text about reprogramming our thoughts).
  3. Let’s transform our emotions: emotions make us react to the world, by recognizing what we feel inside whenever they are present, and accepting them, we can build feelings that allow us to connect with respect to act in a more appropriate way (click here to read the text on sublimation of emotions)
  4. Let’s construct our expression: transparent, coherent and integral communication requires a conscious and constant construction where we integrate what we feel, think, say and do to project our intention to construct peace. This is done through self-knowledge and the exercise of acting aligned to our purpose in all areas of our lives, while investing in our personal talents (click here to buy the book 7 Levels for Personal Empowerment that shows us how to exercise our integrity ).

Exercising fanaticism for our integrity we begin to perceive how the world around us is transformed, since, by focusing on integrity, the way in which we interact is also transformed (we exercise respect, transparency and coherence with ourselves, expanding our intention beyond what we could imagine).

Since everything works differently for each one of us, we learn to respect other processes and even integrate them if we feel they make a difference in our own lives. This way we use fanaticism to recognize what construct ourselves and apply it effectively in our personal habits, without the need of imposing it on others.

Do We Really Act With Respect?

Version en español

versão em portugues

When we pay attention, we perceive that is necessary to construct coherence when it comes to respect, since, the word itself, has been used in a very shallow way that, usually, favors ourselves according to our personal belief. So, do we really act with respect?

The word respect comes from the latin respectus that means attentions, consideration, but its social meaning has been touched, mainly, by fear. When our behaviour has been acquired without being questioned, there is the tendency to assume that we respect because we try to please people (by fear of the conflict, punishment, loneliness, etc.) and/or we develop mecanisms of manipulation to get what we want, and we exercise them with so mastery that we don’t even realize that we are being little considered to others, and to ourselves.

From this perspective, it is important that we connect respect to responsibility, which leads ourselves to recognize and accept the consequences of our actions. When we decide to know ourselves better (click here to buy the eBook 7 Levels for Personal Empowerment), we discover our ability to channel our reactios into actions that construct through knowledge integrated to our experience and to accept and integrate our talents, and the absence of them, in a constructive way. This process allows us to become conscious about the fact that everything we feel, think, say and do, has an impact and that, when we assume our responsability for our actions, we become more respectful to every new decision we take with attention and knowledge.

The following questions are very useful to identify if we are really acting with respect, and can lead us to transform the way we express ourselves in order to connect in a more coherent way with our desire of constructing peace from each one of our decisions:

  1. Do we express our point of view as an experience to share (wihtout the need of imposing it)?
  2. Do we nurture thoughts of constructivity about ourselves and everything around us? (click here to read the text about reprogramming our thoughts)
  3. Do we talk about experiences and points of view to transmit and integrate?
  4. Do we know what we want and communicate that in the most constructive way possible (with coherent and applicable arguments)?
  5. Do we nurture feelings that make us feel connected to humanity and the world?
  6. Do we keep the promises we make?
  7. Do we accept other as they are and construct along with them, generating an appropriate flux of giving and receiving?
  8. Do we set our boundaries, communicate them and respect the limits of everyone and everything around us? (click here to read the text about setting boundaries)

After asking ourselves these 8 questions, we can see that the “YES” answers tell us where our construction of respect and responsibility is strengthened, and “NO” answers show us where we can focus our attention, from this moment on, to further strengthen our expression. We construct our destiny with every decision we make here and now, it’s up to us using the available resources in the more constructive and integral way possible.

Constructive Relationships: 7 questions to assess the level of constructivity of relationships

Version en español

versão em portugues

It is very important to work on our self-relationship (click here to read the text about transforming our self relationship), in order to understand who we really are (click here to read the text about self-knowledge) and be ready to relate to the world in a more assertive way. This includes to detach from destructive relationships, even if it is because of our or other’s intentions, and building new constructive relationships for our lives.

Today we’re talking, specifically, about the transformation of, and/or detach from, relationships that make us feel less than we are, or that just have turned into a waste of time, for we get use to it and we haven’t found our way out of there, whether because of one or many reasons (click here to read the text about empowering habits)..

Many types of beliefs have taken us to live relationships in our lives that, when we change our beliefs, we have seen them as something we don’t really want to live. As we grow up we pass certain situations that can lead us to know what we really don’t want or actually want, that’s why it is so important to learn to direct our lives by the relationship constructive path. This empower us.

There are 7 questions to assess the level of constructivity of relationships we live. Using the for every relationship (sentimental, family, friendship), in an honest way, we are able to understand if us, or other people, are having destructive behaviors, if they can really be transformed, or if the best thing to do is getting out of that relationship.

  1. In the relationship the both of us support each other?
  2. Is there respect between the both of us for each other’s growing and development?
  3. Is there freedom for being who we really are?
  4. Is there honesty and transparency?
  5. Is there dialog without manipulation?
  6. Is there trust, fidelity and loyalty?
  7. The both of us contribute to the construction and strengthening of the relationship?

If after asking ourselves these 7 questions most of the answers were “NO” we are living some kind of destructive relationship. It is important to analize is it’s really possible the transformation through the dialog, but if we perceive that there’s no possibility of changing what is destructing the relationship it is time to ask ourselves about the real reasons why we are still experiencing that. If some of those reasons is fear (of loneliness, of not finfing another person, of losing something) we must take the responsability of detaching from that and, in the most respectful way possible, making clear what we really want (click here to read the text about setting boundaries)..

When we live in an unconsciouss destructive way, we tend to see the external as a threat, but we can transform our own selves and find that heart path that leads us to be more respectful, free, transparent, faithful, loyal and constructive to us and to people (click here to read the text about connecting ourselves to our hearts). So, if today we are in a relationship like that, we must give us the chance of getting out of it and let ourselves, or the other person, follow our own consciousness path. Let’s do this for ours and others, it may be that the relationship that finish now start over again with a more consciouss point of view in order to build the relationship up .

Let’s be independent, dependency always causes undesireble emotional situations (click here to read the text about emotions and feelings).

Discovering Transparency: 3 steps to exercise it

Version en español

versão em portugues

If we want to live a life of transparency, it’s necessary that we learn to construct it and teach people we realete to, through our example, the impact that comes along with choosing this path in an active and conscious way in our own experience.

Although it’s common to use our word as something worthless to get what we want (from controlling our environment ti satisfy others’ desires, things that seem to happen but we don’t really know the truth about it) it doesn’t mean that is approppriate to construct what we desire from our hearts (transparency, coherence, peace, safety and integrity). So, are we acting with the transparency we want to exist in our world? (click here to read the article about transmutation of the word corruption)

Since our present decisions are the ones which create our fate (click here to read the text about deciding by conviction), it’s moment of deciding the steps to take in order to construct the fate of peace we want from now on. Let’s see 3 steps to exercise and strengthen the habit of transparency:

  1. Assuming the responsability for our actions: it’s possible that at some point in our lives we’ve acted in a disrespectful and lying way in order to follow the model of getting what we want no matter how, so, for exercising transparency it’s essential to assume everything we have done at some moment and reflect about its utility to construct what we expect from the world. When we are responsible for our decisions, we have a wider perspective about what needs to be transformed in this moment. For example, if we are in a relationship because of the fear of being alone, but we no longer feel connected to the person, we can integrate our fear, by understanding and transforming it into courage to transmit to the other person the reality about the wy we feel, in an approppriate way, and transforming the relationship, through respect, into a friendship (click here to read the text We broke up, what now?)
  2. Better knowing people before envolving them in our lives: through emotions we enter relationships quickly without being conscious about the authenticity, coherence and affinity between people and us. Really knowing ouselves (click here to read the text about connecting ourselves to our hearts) we are sure about what is really necessary in our lives to construct with purpose (click here to read the text about not so necessary needs) and through athenticity we connect to people with defined purposes (click here to read the text about the purpose of relationships) communicating, in a respectful way, what we really feel.
  3. Perceiving our feelings, thoughts, words and actions: during the day different feelings and thoughts emerge, and we need to understand them to transform them and channel them into the construction of our transparency, thus, through our words and actions, we express them the most approppriate way according to our reality in the context of the place we’re in, with respect, coherence and integrity.

Exercising transparency is not about telling everyone about the way we feel or what we think about others, situations or what’s around us, but transforming our reactive expression into active, through the consciousness of expressing our truth in a respectful way when we communicate, thus, constructing a communication which purpose is constructing, from diversity, a society of integrity.

What do we Blame For, if we are Responsible?

Version en español

versão em portugues

One of the main motives by which we blame others for what happen, besides the intention of destroying, is ignoring that the responsibility is totally ours, we decide every step we take, whether impulsive and unconsciously, or active and consciously.

If we are in a certain place, with certain peopla, living certain experiences, is because we’ve decided it that way. Some times we’ve got to think that there were any other option, but, the reality is that we don’t perceive the possibilities when we are focused on something and want to get it anyway, but “THE END DOESN’T JUSTIFY THE MEANS” respect (click here to read the text about respect), transparency and coherence (click here to read the text about coherence) must be the main ingredients of each one of our decisions, if we really want to live in a society that constructs itself through integrity and from our differences (click here to read the text about constructing peace through consiousness).

Blaming someone for what happens to us is a way of ignoring something we need to learn about ourselves and judging others, these habits destruct our relationships with ourselves and with the world around us, so, for this reason, it’s necessary to transform our reactions into constructive actions, in a conscious way. Let’s see some actions that can be useful for this purpose:

  1. Before blaming, let’s think about the decisions which have led us to the present moment: from a haircut, to buying a house, is necessary to understand the motive of every step we’ve taken, what motivates the action, what we think, feel and say about the situation and what we can learn from it.
  2. Let’s focus on talking about what we’ve done and what we could do differently: by talking about our own process we get to listen to ourselves and to assess, in an objective way, what could lead ourselves to manifest a different result, really knowing our talents and recognizing that which we don’t have ability for, in order to join to people that strengthen and enhance what we already are.
  3. Let’s question the purpose that has guided us, to act the way he’ve acted, and transform it if we feel that is being desrespectful, liar and incoherent to our own nature: many purposes in our lives have been created to satisfy necessities, of others or our own, that keep ourselves away from who we are. Understanding better what we do from ou hearts we get to align our feelings, thoughts, words and actions to reconnect to ourselves and act in the most approppriate way for the context we’ve decided to experience.

Let’s remember that we are totally responsible for what we experience in our lives, that our decisions construct our path and that the more conscious we are about the peace we want to construct, the easier it is to construct it in every area of our lives (click here to read the text about constructing peace).

Cell Regeneration: 6 foods to increase protein daily intake

Version en español

versão em portugues

We are all different and it is important that we learn to understand our body signals to feed it in a more efficient way. Following the 4 steps to expand nutritional consciousness (click here to read the full article) we are able to get in touch with the reaction food causes and integrate that into our diet. Remember that is necessary to detach from some limiting beliefs (click here to read the article about beliefs) about certain foods, as we read in the last articles, in order to transform , efectively, feeding into nutrition (click here to read about cell regeneration and micronutrients).

Let’s define feeding and nutrition to see the difference. Feeding consists on comsuming substances to keep our vital functions, is the way we give energy to our bodies. Feeding occurs, mainly, based on the awareness of macronutrients, proteins, carbohydrates and lipids (fat). Nutrition consists on providing substances necessary for our preservation and growth, here we perceive the body as an organism in constanc evolution and regeneration that needs macro and micronutrients, vitamins and minerals, to keep the balance and, consequently, create a perfect health state.

In the book Human nutrition in the developing world (available in English atFood and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations – FAO website), Professor, Michael C. Latham, talk about proteins as follows. Proteins contain carbon, hydrogen, oxigen, nitrogen and, often, sulphur. They are particularly important as nitrogenous substances, and are necessary for growth and repair of the body. Proteins are the main structural constituents of the cells, and they make up the greater portion of the substance of the muscles and organs (apart from water).

Proteins are necessary:

  • for growth and development of the body;
  • for body maintenance and the repair and replacement of worn out or damaged tissues;
  • to produce metabolic and digestive enzymes;
  • as an essential constituent of certain hormones, such as thyroxine and insulin.

Although proteins can yield energy, their main importance is rather as an essential constituent of all cells. All cells may need replacement from time to time, and their replacement requires protein.

Any protein eaten in excess of the amount needed for growth, cell and fluid replacement and various other metabolic functions is used to provide energy, which the body obtains by changing the protein into carbohydrate. If the carbohydrate and fat in the diet do not provide adequate energy, then protein is used to provide energy; as a result less protein is available for growth, cell replacement and other metabolic needs. This point is especially important for children, who need extra protein for growth. If they get too little food for their energy requirements, then the protein will be diverted for daily energy needs and will not be used for growth.

Now that we know the importance of the proteins for our body it is necessary to ask ourselves some questions to discover if we are having an appropriate daily intake of proteins:

  1. What foods do we consume every day?
  2. Do we know if they contain proteins?
  3. What is the amount of protein we consume daily?

If in our diet are missing sources of protein we can integrate these foods into our diet:

  1. Almonds (21 grams of protein per 100 grams) – ALL BLOOD TYPES EXCEPT AB
  2. Nogal Walnuts (15 grams of protein per 100 grams) – ALL BLOOD TYPES
  3. Macadamia nuts (8 grams of protein per 100 grams) – ALL BLOOD TYPES
  4. Peanut (26 grams of protein per 100 grams) – BLOOD TYPES A and AB
  5. Linseed/Flaxseed (14 grams of protein per 100 grams) – ALL BLOOD TYPES
  6. Boiled Eggs (13 grams of protein per 100 grams) – ALL BLOOD TYPES

Remember that the cleaner our intestines are the better nutrients absorption will occur, so it is important to keep a healthy diet with enough water and fiber (click here to read the article about nutrient absorption).

Love,
Ángel
